What is Tuina?

​

Tuina also known as Chinese medical massage, is believed to be one of the oldest systems of body work.  It is used to treat musculoskeletal disorders as well as internal diseases.  It's often used alongside acupuncture, fire cupping, Chinese herbal Medicine and qigong.

What is Acupuncture/Dry needling?

​

Traditional acupuncture is based on an ancient health care system that believes pain and illness in the body is a  sign that the body. is imbalanced.  Therefore the aim of acupuncture treatment is to restore the body's balance.  The practitioner will insert very fine needles into precise points to connect with your body's qi. Most people do not feel the needles being inserted as they are so fine, however it is normal to feel a dull ache or mild tingling as the needles are adjusted.Each client is unique and their treatment is tailor made to their individual needs.

What is Cupping?

​

Cupping originated in China, and is a type of therapy that involves placing cups on the skin to create suction which may increase the flow of blood to promote healing in the body.There are 2 types of cupping: Dry Cupping which is suction based only and Wet Cupping which may involve both suction and controlled medicinal bleeding.  At LPT we do Dry cupping.

When the cups are applied, your skin may turn red due to the change in pressure.  Any bruising or marks will disappear within approx. 10 days.

Do you do consultations?

 

Initial consultation is included in first treatment.

If client would still like to be seen prior to first treatment, this can be done at a minimum cost of £15 (15minutes) then at a rate of £1 per minute for any additional time needed.

What is the duration of a treatment?

 

30-60 minutes 

 

How many treatments will I need?

 

The number of treatments needed depends on the individuals issues and how proactive they are outside of treatments ie. stretching, mobility, diet, stress management, however ongoing treatments are recommended.

 

Will the treatment be painful?

 

Everyone has a different pain threshold so some individuals might find certain parts more painful than others especially if they have imbalances. Pressure can be adjusted during treatments to ensure the client is as comfortable as possible.

What clothes do I need to wear?

 

Treatments are done with clients fully clothed so wear something light, comfortable and loose fitting if possible.

 

Do you use oils and creams?

 

All treatments are done with the client fully clothed with a sheet place over them.  Oils and creams are only used on the neck and ankles if needed.

 

Who are your treatments for?

 

Our treatments are for everyone, Men, Women and children.

Can I have a treatment if I've had the Covid-19 Vaccine?

​

We recommend you wait 14 days after having the vaccine, before having one of our treatments.

 

What payment types do you accept?

 

We accept Direct Bank Transfer or Cash.

 

Do you offer discount?

​

Yes we do offer a 10% discount* for ALL NEW clients also when you select one of our packages, a significant discount is applied.  

*10% discount applies to first 60 minute treatment for ALL NEW clients.

 

What is your cancellation policy?

We do require 24 hours notice for any cancellation or rearrangement of booking.  Failure to do so will result in a loss of deposit.

​

Same applies to package bookings.  Failure to provide 24 hours notice of cancellation for any of the individual appointments within the package, will result in loss of that appointment.
